Industry Stakeholders Stakeholders Diagram for the arts industry The arts industry in Singapore is made of many stakeholders from different categories, all which play a role in influencing the future of the industry. Many of these stakeholders can be seen playing a part in organising AYN, the most prominent being the National Arts Council initiating it. National Arts Council (NAC) falls under the category of public stakeholders. Role of The Government

Role of The Government Over the years, National Arts Council (NAC) has provided support for the sports and arts industry in Singapore through many ways. This support is seen through 3 main areas. First being championing the industry, NAC takes on a personal approach. A thorough study was conducted based on different demographical groups, and by understanding the target, NAC can make arts relevant to their lives by appealing to their concerns and communicating with them through channels that the demographic uses. In relation to advocacy and support for the industry, NAC encourages individuals and corporate organisations to volunteer for the arts through their many different activities. One example of such is the ‘Patron of The Arts’ award, where monetary, in-kind donations to the industry are being recognised. Community

Arts and the Community Community arts has since risen to the center of attention as they are known more than just being a lesser version of what you see in grand theatres and expensive exhibitions. What these community arts and its events bring to the community relates further than just being attractive to the human eye. One of such benefits is the engagement with the community. An example is ‘Jumbo Fabrica’, one of the programmes offered through AYN. ‘Jumbo Fabrica’ is an engaging walking trail which requires participants to learn about stories through audio guides and also take part in upcycling stations where they will transform an old furniture into something fresh and rejuvenated. This engagement also comes in the form of artists acknowledging the community they are working in and finding creative spaces within it.
